Instructor Part-Time

Year Round – Hourly pay
We are currently hiring Part-time Instructors. This position is for individuals interested in working in an outdoor and dynamic environment. Part-time instructors will have the opportunity to be trained to operate zip line, rock wall, archery and BB gun ranges, team building, assist as an aquatic lookout, and facilitate earth, life, and physical science lessons to students. Part-time Instructors will develop essential guest service and workplace skills.

Essential Job Functions

  • Conduct programs and activities for groups K-adult
  • Responsible for safety and supervision of program participants
  • Responsible for knowledge of all information imparted during training
  • Work to develop proficiency in scouting program areas
  • Work to develop quality academic experiences

Instructor Full-Time

Seasonal – Salary pay
The Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center seeks seasonal Instructors for fall to spring. Instructors are responsible for delivering program to our participants and customers throughout the year and heavily during the academic school year. Programs include middle school science and high school and college leadership programs.

Essential Job Functions

  • Conduct programs and activities for groups K-adult
  • Responsible for safety and supervision of program participants
  • Responsible for knowledge of all information imparted during training
  • Support the daily administrative, program planning, and implementation of programs
  • Work to develop quality academic experiences

Lifeguard

Seasonal – Hourly pay
We hire certified lifeguards to work at our outdoor aquatic facility from February – November. The facility includes a mini-Olympic size pool and a training pool with a 185-foot long, 5-turn water slide. The IROEC holds on-going training and in-services for lifeguards throughout the season in order to ensure a safe and fun environment for guests of all ages and abilities.

Essential Job Functions

  • Must maintain current certification as an American Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR/First Aid/AED for the Professional Rescuer. (Other certification organizations may be accepted)
  • Perform rescues and provide care to your level of training through the American Red Cross Lifeguard/CPR/AED certification.
  • Enforce all pool, waterslide, and aquatic area rules and guidelines to both staff and guest.
  • Able to follow IROEC specific procedures including swim checks, orientation talks, shift rotation, and working alongside staff who are currently trained in a Lookout position.
  • Follow a process to track maintenance and repairs needed on program equipment as directed by Area Leads.
  • Ensure that safety and protocol are followed in accordance to American Camp Association and Boy Scouts of American standards.
  • Customer-oriented towards all guests of all ages.
